Update: new house,noah and nicklaus

So we finally have our own house!! YEAH!! I'm so excited, finally we can paint, and fix the yard however we like, yet also comes all the responablities of owning your own home :-( Oh well it all goes hand in hand. Noah is getting bigger and more grown up everyday. And he has learned that mommmy has trouble catching him if he runs or hides under the table. He is such a joy to have and can't imagine my life without him. He is going to make such a great big brother too. Everytime we see a baby he has to point it out to me, and when we go play at his friend julies house, who has two new little sibblings he is so sweet to them. Gives them kisses on their heads and when one starts crying then pats them and says "shh baby...its okay" Now i know he is going to have a little of trouble adjusting too simply because he does get so spoiled by Collin and my family. This coming March will def be one exciting journey for our little family. Nicklaus is starting to get really big to hence i'm getting really big! I guess the doctor is getting a little worried because i am measuring a couple of weeks farther along then i actually am, so come Jan if i haven't slowed down we are going to have to do another ultrasound just to make sure that all is well. I am sure it is, but i'm getting concerned about having a big baby on top of having a campbell/nelson baby that all have huge heads! Noah's head was 12in when he was born i'm praying that Nicklaus will be smaller than that, but i doubt it.

This is a pic of me at 25 weeks and one from nicklaus' ultrasound at 19 weeks
More to come of the new house once boxes don't cover it!

Halloween and other fun stuff!

So every year our little family travels up to Prescott, AZ to visit with Collin's dad and step-mom. Its tradition that all the kids show up, we have a Halloween party and pass out candy. Now the very cool part of this tradition is the city shuts off a couple of streets in down-town Prescott (where his parents live) and all the kids from Prescott show up and trick or treat. We are talking about thousands and thousands of kids. This year being pregnant and unable to fit in many costumes, i tried to think of something that I could be. When we saw this cute little Yoda costume on-line i just knew that I could be Padme. Now any nerd knows what i am talking about, for all you cool people Padme is from starwars, she is Luke and Leia's mom, and in the third starwars she is pregnant. So Noah became Yoda, Collin Anikin and me Padme. Yes we are a very geeky family; but i am happy to say that my brother Nathan will always have me beat. Even though his family has never all dresses up as starwars characters. We had a blast up seeing everyone and visiting with the Campbell-McCall family. I just wish that we were able to see/get together more often. But because we were all together Collins step brother Matt and his girlfriend decided why not get married. So we had an impromptu wedding Nov 1st. It was beautiful, we gathered in a friends backyard, held a little ceremony then all tracked up the mountain(to another friend's house) to have dinner. needless to say it was a fun fill and very busy weekend for us. I can hardly wait to see what Christmas up there will be like.

Its a boy!

It was confirmed to us yesterday that we have another boy making his way into our family! We are so excited! Collin to say the least is so thrilled and can't stop smiling. He warned me when we first got pregnant with Noah that all he can produce is boys and I can't help but wonder now if there might be some truth to that! lol So the running Joke now is if I want a girl I'm going to have to pay a visit to Anson (my friends husband) and Laine (the friend) will have to visit with Collin so she can get a boy (she is pregnant with her 2nd girl). We don't have any names decided yet but have a couple up on the chopping block, Collin keeps trying to get me to let him name the baby after Drew Brees or Payton Manning, or if he really had his way he would like to name him La Damian after LaDamian Tomlinson the charger's running back. I told him no way unless my baby came out black, and in that case i don't mind. One of the names we are thinking of is Nicklaus Alan, and last night at my in laws my mother-in-law asked Noah if he wanted a brother named Nicklaus, Noah turned and smiled at her and said "yeah, Nicky!" We don't know how he came up with Nicky but it was so cute. Noah is going to make such a great big brother.

Pumpkin Patch

So it is tradition for Collin's grandpa to take the grandkids to the pumpkin patch every year to pick out their own pumpkin. Now that all the grandkids are grown the great grandkids get to go. Noah had so much fun riding the train and the swing looking at the animals, climbing on the pumpkins, Which he wanted to take them all home with us. We had so much fun i hope that it is something that we can continue for many years to come, so poppa jeff and grandma wendy get ready for next year!

My husband cried today

So when I had to go back to work for a couple of months it was not unusual for me to have to fix my makeup in the car. Noah would cry that he didn't want me to go and then that would lead to me crying. Collin usually would be like just go, he'll be fine don't worry. (which of course I would always worry). Well the tables were turned this morning. Collin had to leave for work early this morning and was gettng ready to walk out the door when Noah woke up and was calling for Daddy to come and get him (which by the way i love because then I can have five more minutes in bed :-) Noah gave Collin a big hug and then said Daddy don't go. Collin then started to get teary; this is the first time Noah has ever said this. Collin told him that he had to go to work but that he would be home soon. Noah kept saying Daddy don't go, daddy don't go. and as a last attempt to try to stop his dad said "Daddy!! Don't go, Please!" How Collin was able to make it out the door I'll never know because i never would have. I would call in sick or do whatever I could to stay home. Hence prob why he gets to go off to work and I get to stay at home taking care of the little boy who misses his daddy today.

Sleepless night

I am so tired it hurts to keep my eyes open, yet as i laid in bed for 2 hours before finally getting up and think i have to find something to relax my mind and body (having some not so fun heartburn- thanks baby!) So i decided to get on here and write. I was reading in the Oct 2008 ensign today and the article was a short one pager but really hit home for me. I don't remember the title but it was a lady telling her story about her most memorable experience at conference. Pres James E Faust gave a talk called Dear are the sheep that have wondered. My mother is an amazing woman for putting up with all that she has. She has had so many trials i don't understand how she can still be standing on her feet and shouting for joy. I never really understood (and prob wont until it happens to me) how hard it must be to watch your children turn away from the gospel and reject something that you hold so dear. Now being a parent, it would break my heart if Noah rejected the church and made the mistakes that my brother and I have made. Anyways back to the article, this woman knew that talk was just for her and was what she needed to hear that day as she has struggled with her own wondering lamb. And i know that was an article that i needed to read, maybe to help prepare myself for my day of having lost sheep, or just to help me understand my mother i know i was meant to find it, so i could read that conference talk
-side note: that talk was given in the middle of my rebellion

Okay enough of me babaling, i'm sure none of this makes sense but in my sleepless mind i understand me and thats all that matters right. Good Night All, wish me luck on finding some sleep.

Its been to long...

So much has happened and life has been so crazy busy, it was my goal to write here once a week or at the very least every two weeks...yet here we are like two months later :-( so I'll start with August. The beginning of August was the very first Damn Dang Hurst Family Reunion. We had so much fun getting together and trying to camp... and without fail got rained out so we ended up pitching tents all around my grandparents yard. It was tent city and we all spread out all over the house and yard. Just visiting and eating and we went shooting my great great grandfather gun that he brought in from Mexico, that my uncle Tracy just had restored. Seeing my cousin Lauri's kids shoot a gun for the very first time was so much fun to watch. Sadly we were missing some cousins and siblings but hopefully next year everyone can make it out.

After the reunion my sister Devin came out to visit for about a week. We didn't really go and do anything fun or to exciting, but it was fun to have time with her. Since Shannon moved to Utah i have felt disconnected from my sisters, they all live in Utah now and are able to see each other couple times a month or have special sister weekend parties or movies or whatnot without me :-( almost makes me want to move to Utah, but not bad enough to actually do it lol.
On August 20Th (Devin's Birthday) my dog Bonnie went into labor, she had a hard labor and with thanks to the vet clinic (which i will never go to them ever again) she was able to deliver her 7 puppies but only two survived. But they are two beautiful little girls who have stolen my heart and as much as i would love to be able to keep them they will be going to their new home in about two weeks. Thankfully it is only a couple blocks away and their new owners are very nice and will love them and care for them very well.

September was not quite so eventful, just a juggle of working, ward realignment, caring for puppies, morning sickness(which hopefully will be going away soon) and trying to keep Noah entertained. We are looking forward to Halloween this month, and being able to find out if we should expect a little boy or girl in our home come March! I can't believe that i am 15 weeks now, it really only seems like a couple weeks ago i found out that i was pregnant. Noah is already acting like a big brother. I ask him if he want to give baby a kiss, he usually runs up to my belly, kisses it then likes to give baby a couple of zerberts right after. Noah is getting so big and growing up to fast. I can't believe that he will be two in a couple of short months!

Noah golfing

So Noah is taking after his father and becoming a golfer. This video was taken at the beginning of the month at my monthly family dinner. He is so much fun and so cute, i could not imagine my life without him. Noah is an amazing gift from god, and i can hardly wait for him to meet his new little brother or sister. He knows that Mommy has a baby in her belly and he gives the baby kisses all the time, and sometimes rasberries too just like a true brother lol. I never would have imagined my life turning out the way that it has but i would not trade it for anything.

Big Brother!

So it's official, Noah will become a big brother in about 8 months! We found out last week that I am pregnant and due March 28Th, 2009 just days before Collin's birthday. We are all so excited and can't wait to meet, and get to know more about our little peanut!

Padres's vs DBack's

Saturday night, Collin his cousin Lauren and I went to the Padre's vs DBacks game held at Chase field in Phx. We got there just as the first pitch of the game was thrown. Got Nachos ice cream, and ate until we almost barfed. Being how it was a DBacks home game we were given strange looks all night because the 3 of us wore Padres jerseys and cheered the padres on as they kicked the Diamond backs butts. I can hardly wait for the next baseball game!

Fourth of July

So for the fourth of July this year, my aunt Susan came over to hang out and visit with me, we had so much fun! First we went to Emma's work party an outdoor carnival of the sorts and since it was so hot we ended up grabbing lunch inside her restaurant then home to put Noah to bed, watch/sleep through the movie Definitely, Maybe then she had to go home :-( So Noah and i headed over to Grandma Wendy's house to help prepare food for the BBQ that night, go swimming, and just goof around. This is when Noah decided that he should learn to use a camera. That night when everyone arrived and the little boy went to bed the adults went swimming and set of some nice fireworks in the Cul-De-sac. Thanks Logan! I love the fourth of July! The food, the family & friends, the fun.

New Bed

Last week Noah graduated from his crib to a big boy bed. I can't believe that my little boy is 18months old now. He has been trying to climb out of his crib for months now, so i mentioned to Susan (my aunt) that if she came across a toddler bed for cheap and in good condition while out at garage sales then to let me know. i didn't expect her to call me two days later and say that she found one for free! So we went and picked it up from her friends house, brought it home and i set it up in Noah's room for him to climb on and play with; before i knew it he ran to the fridge asking for his bottle, gave the dogs kisses goodnight and then climbed into the new bed. He slept in the bed the whole night. So the next morning Emma and I took down his crib and rearranged his bedroom to fit his new bed. He now sleeps in his bed at night and takes naps in a port-a-crib.
