Owl hat for my baby sister- I got the pattern from Daisy Cottage Designs

So cute and very easy to do.

I didn't make the eyes as big (only did 2 rounds instead of 3)

The ears as long (6 rounds instead of 8) and

around the beak I did a single crochet around the entire beak once I finished with her beak pattern

and added about 3 extra pieces of yard to each braid.

Such a sweet and easy little pumpkin hat! I go this pattern from FavCrafts.com

You have to sign up to get free patterns but so far totally worth it.

This one is a simple HDC in BL making a rectangle- sew the edged together

then a SC around the top and then after the first row Sc2tog till you have about 6-8 stitches in your circle. and sc going up about 1 -1 1/2 inches high.

For the vine chained about 20 the 2sc in same stitch going across.

This hat was so easy took me about and hour. Think I am going to have to make some bigger ones for my boys to wear this Halloween!

Mix with the wonderful invention of Rainbow Chip icing and you get this!

I made a funfetti cake (the best since it has sprinkles in it!), let it cool.

Then I cut it in half and adding a laying of icing between my two cake half's.

Then iced with rainbow chip icing.

Topped with green coconut

 (mix about 2 T spoons of water with some green food coloring

and coconut- in a gallon size ziplock bag and shake)

Added the Bunny on top with Robin eggs all around then

Sixlets around the bottom.

Cute, fun and delicious cake and easy to make cake!

Tiered Plates

Remember this?

Well it has now become this!

So I know this has been posted on EVERY craft blog out there, and everytime I see these I always tell myself that I really need to make myself some. Finally I did!

 I found these super cute plates at walmart, I already had one of the candlestick holders and I got the other at the dollar store. All in all this whole project cost me less than $5. I can't wait to use it this easter weekend!

And I have the perfect treat to put on it! Can't wait to show you!

Tulle Tulle and more Tulle

For the last month I have been busy sewing Easter bags. My cousin text me one day and said she saw some cute bags online and was wondering if I could make them for her girls. Challenge Accepted!

I think they came out so cute. I LOVED seeing them when they were all finished.

Tulle and sewing took over my kitchen table... my poor family has not been able to eat a proper meal around the table without fear of tulle getting onto their plate, mom freaking out if someone spilled or bumping their arm on a sewing machine.

I am so glad that Stacy asked me to make the first bags for her and so thankful for everyone that bought one. I am taking a short break from making them, then will be adding them to my etsy shop.

I have seen a lot of people use these bags for dance bags, scripture bags, bridal bags, and as just a plain little girl purse (or the big girl who is young at heart). If you interested in one let me know!

1 Bucket List Goal down!

So when I was about 8 or 9 years old my mom taught me how to crochet. I have gone back and forth for many years crocheting. I will make a couple of wash cloths, or a scarf and be done or a couple more years. Then after I had Noah it graduated to crocheting the edges of blankets. But I have NEVER taken the time to learn how to read a crochet pattern.
I have finally done it! My first one was a earwarmer headband from my friends crocheting company called Polka Dot Posh. Cassi has some of the cutest hats, diaper covers, shoes, and baby photo props that I have ever seen.

I technically can't say that one is complete because I still have to sew on a button before it can be worn. But I can say I finished this one! I saw on a crafting website somewhere a lady made a Jack Skellington (Nightmare Before Christmas) hat and I knew my boys and husband would love to have one. So I found a basic pattern for a fitted hat and then crocheted eyes and sticked on his nose and mouth. I love it and Nick has yet to take it off since I put it one him. It is a little tight on his head, but my kids have big heads. Most toddler heads I think it would be great on! Excuse his red eyes and his running nose, he was just crying from being woken up from a nap.

Floor Cushions

So about a week ago Collin and I decided that the boys need a playroom more than he needs an office.
We both were hoping that this might end the toys ending up all over the house (haha- yeah I know).
A couple days after we had rearranged everything I noticed that ALL of my pillows and blankets started disappearing; and would some how reappear in the toy room! (Magic as Noah tells me)
So I thought back to this awesome craft I saw on Living with Punks, making some floor cushions for the wee little ones. So i pulled out that HUGE bolt of fabric from my sisters wedding and got to work.

The boys love them. It has been three days so far and not ONE of my couch cushions has reappeared in the toy room (yet...cross your fingers)

Valentines Door Wreath

I finally have one!  After almost 5 years of being in my own house I finally have a door wreath for each holiday! This wreath cost me less than 5 bucks! What could be better than that! (Free maybe??)

I got the wicker circle and the metallic hearts at the dollar store and the felt hearts in a kit at Joann's that was 3 dollars for 50% off.

Halloween Wall Hangings

So in my many Halloween project searches I came across

Craftily Ever After,

and fell in love with her Free Printable

And then decided that I wanted to make some of my own. Got on the website Picnik,

I think they are fabulous and have will have them ready to be picked up at walmart tomorrow (Didn't want to waste all my printers ink). And as soon as I find some frames to put them in I will be set to go.

Bat Masks

My little Noah is obsessed with Super heros. He wants everything to be Iron Man, Superman, Batman, Captian America. It if has a mask and/or a cape he thinks it belongs to him. So when I saw Living With Punks do her bat masks I knew that I had to make some for my little super heros.
They were so simple took me about ten minutes a mask from cutting to letting Noah put it on.
And it is now a new favorite at my house.

Come On In

With A little help from Elm Street Life and another site that I just don't remember where/how I found it. I got the idea to make a come on in sign for all the parties and meetings I have over at my house. I LOVE the way it came out. It was a little labor intensive, and I'm not an artist in any matter of speaking but well worth it. This one I was planning on giving to my aunt but I think I am just going to have to make a different one for her. :-)

Dollar Store Halloween Wreath

I LOVE Wreaths! Well, pretty much ANY doorhanger will do. When it is time to take one down It saddens me when I don't have one to put up like for the horrible time between the 4th and fall. And then again for Valentines day. I KNOW I used to have one for the heart day, but I couldn't find it this year. :-(

I noticed when Sept 1st hit that all I have is fall door hangers and NONE for Halloween (which is quickly becoming Noah's favorite holiday).

So at the Dollar Store today I saw this cute little witch calling to me. And sitting right next to her was a wicker weath. And right next to the wreath was some fall colored leaves!

So I promptly put them all in my basket and attached everything togeather so come Oct. 1st. My dollar store witch will let everyone know that my house is ready for the big night!

Ashbury Bag

So an old friend of mine is in this band called Ashbury. And many many years ago, I bought one of their shirts. I LOVED this shirt, and wore it all the time. Then I had babies and now the shirt didn't fit me. So i've held onto it all these years thinking "maybe one day I can wear it again." It was tight on me back in my skinny/smaller boobs days so noway is it going to fit my boobs anytime in the near future.


So anyways I ran across this blog Whimsical Creations, where a grandma had turned the kids old shirts into bags. (LIGHTBULB!!) I knew right away what I wanted to do with my old shirt.





















So I cut off the bottom and the sleeves made a square and sewed it together. Then added the sleeves as pockets one on the outside and another on the inside. Then made the bottom part of the shirt that I cut off into the strap for the bag and attached. I love the way it came out and can't wait to start using my shirt again!

New cake supplies

So at Joann's last week I talked my husband into buying my the next cake course supply kit. Now I haven't signed up for the class yet, but I wanted all the supplies and I had a coupon that made it half off! So I made flowers this week. The close up pictures came out a little blurry so only two pictures which are group shots.

Last night I made my own fondant and let me tell you it is GOOD! I usually hate fondant but this is a marshmallow one, and so good. So I'm making ribbons this week and prob some more flowers to have on hand for future cakes and cupcakes.

While on vacation...

So this past week I was given the week off from work. So in order to help get my house under control I thought what better way than to do some crafts and have fun too!

I have been experimenting with Mod Podge. And I have found my new love! It started that I wanted to make a for a present to my boys adopted Mi Ma.... I wanted to make a Photo Rubik Cube. I couldn't find any photos that I liked that would fit. So that project has been put on hold.

And so I had this Mod Podge sitting there saying lets try me!

So I found a site that covered old diaper boxes with scrapbook paper! And I did and the first one didn't come out so pretty. The site showed to make a rounded edge( can't find that site now), and rounded edges are not so easy to cover with ribbon so I skipped that step.














But I have have gone on to cover the ugly sock box for all my loose socks ( I ran out of that ribbon, so its left topless until I get to the store)

using the beautiful leftover material from my sisters wedding to cover a new box to hold all my purses,














that same material to cover some old star hooks to match my purse box to hold my hats!
