This is Nick with his birthday ball, he loves to play with balls so I got one from walmart and had everyone at his party sign it with a birthday message for him. This is his favorite present by far!

Oh fast fast the time goes!
Nicklaus turned one! I can't believe that my baby is that old now, walking and talking and beating up his brother. For everyones birthday (at least here in AZ) I am in charge of making the cakes. For Nick's birthday we decided to have a monkey cake. I found the cutest pan from Wilton. And of course because NOTHING ever goes as planned. I didn't get to decorate his cake earlier in the day like I wanted to. So about 1 hour before his party I rush over to my in-laws with the frosting and all my cake colors. I open up my brown, and it has dried out! (The fact that I was at the store earlier in the day just makes me even more upset about this- because had I known then I could have gotten more!) So I am trying to mix colors and make a brown, a lite tan and a black (which that color ALSO had dried out!) So my monkey didn't come out how I wanted it to, and Nick is to young to realize that his monkey is more of a poop brown to even care, all he cares about is if it is yummy! (which it was) And for whatever reason I just could not get my leafs right either. So this cake is such a disaster I just have to laugh it off.

Can Nick fly??
Noah the other day while driving down the road, asked me if he rolled down the window, would Nicklaus fly out? I told him no, he wouldn't. Noah's response "But I want him too!" (as he is rolling down the window) Needless to say I have to keep the window lock on now because Noah often wonders if he or Nick can fly. And tried to almost everyday.
I think Noah's greatest desire right now is to become a super hero. And if it was a super hero that rode around on trains that would be BEAWSOME! (beyond awsome for those of you who haven't seen the movie Bolt)
On friday Nickalus turns one. I can't believe how fast this past year has gone! My little baby has turned into a toddler! He is such a little momma's boy. And he give the best kisses and hugs. Nicklaus loves balls and puppies. He has a puppy puzzle hanging on his wall and every morning when I go in to get him he is sitting in his crib pointing at it and saying puppy. Then I have to pick him up and stare and talk about the puppies for a couple of min. He loves his brother Noah too. He looks up to Noah and follows him around all day trying to play with him. His favorite food is pizza and bananas. And he looks and acts like a little chunky monkey. He is just over 25 pounds and last time I measured him he was 28.5 inches long.
Noah starts preschool next week. He is so excited he asks me all the time how many years till he can go to school. So when his girlfriend signed up for preschool and asked if Noah could go with her I couldn't turn them down.
I just can't believe how old my little boys are getting. I am so proud of the little men that they are becoming. How loving Nick is and how strong Noah is. I couldn't have asked for two better boys.

Nick and the food dye
This afternoon while I was trying to finish my late late lunch and catch up on a missed episode of Modern Family. All of a sudden I hear lots of giggles comming from the kitchen. And giggles from my boys can mean that the yare a.having fun and being nice b. Noah is making faces at Nick or c. noah is getting into trouble and nick finds this funny. This time is was d. Noah was helping Nick get into trouble and they found it hilarious.
When I asked Noah why he gave his brother the food dye. He told me "because he asked for it!" Well you can't argue with that logic!

Not much has changed the last couple of weeks, We had Courtney's baby shower last Saturday. She now has everything she will ever need and more! It looks like she has pre-clamsia now. We are waiting to hear back from the Doctor tomorrow. If she does then it is most likely that Riley Catheryn will be born in about two weeks!! I am so excited to meet her. I have really been starting to get that baby itch again. NOT that I want another baby right now, but just have one to hug and cuddle and hold. I love the baby baby stage, and Nick and Noah don't like to hug and cuddle me :-( I guess they all have to grow up at sometime.
Noah decided that it would be fun to swallow a penny the other night. And when I asked him why he did that he responded "to keep it away from Nick!" despite the fact Nick was already in bed sleeping. And tonight as I was laying Nick down I come back into the kitchen and there is Noah pulling out everything in the spice cabinet "trying to make pancakes". He wanted James pancakes which means that he was trying to dye them red as well. Noah's life revolves around trains right now. And his colors have changed from red and green and blue to james and percy and thomas. lol I love that kid but sometimes he just like to drive me crazy!

I vow all the time that I am going to become better at this, or that I WILL get on this week and write. Yet I never do. Since becoming a mom to two little boys My life gets busier and crazier everyday. And in those rare moments that I have them both asleep I find myself still cleaning up the house, or cooking, or doing laundry. And on those really rare moments Of quite/alone time I sometimes get to read or sew or do some project that has been sitting and looking at me for weeks.
I have finally finshed one of the biggest projects that I have ever undertaken. Sewing my soon to be born neices bedset. And along with it, TONS of stuffed animals, blankets and soft books. And I know in about 3-4 years she is going to be coming to me to make her new ones and sew clothes for her barbie/baby dolls. I can hardly wait!
My two rug rats have grown up so much. Noah turned 3 in Dec and is now in the Sunbeam class at church. AHHH I have a Sunbeam! It is so weird for me to say that! He loves it though. He can hardly wait for church each week and then as soon as sacrament is over he jumps up and tells me it is time to go play with the kids!
Nicklaus will be ten months next week and ready to walk any day. He took his first step two days ago. Hasn't tried again yet, but I know as soon as i takes two more steps he will be running. Whenever we practice walking he is never content on just walking. He has to RUN.
